API for Developers

Build document workflows, extraction pipelines, and AI-powered automations directly into your product with the Enterflow API. Our developer-first approach is designed for teams that want reliable results, clear observability, and deployment flexibility—from rapid prototypes to private-cloud production.

Whether you need structured extraction, classification, routing, or end-to-end document processing, the API is built to integrate cleanly with modern stacks and operational constraints.

What you can do with the API

Core capabilities

Use the API to:

  • Upload and process documents (PDFs, scans, images, email attachments)

  • Run OCR and extraction to produce structured output (JSON)

  • Classify documents (e.g., invoice vs PO vs contract vs “other”)

  • Extract key fields and line items, including tables

  • Validate and normalize (dates, totals, tax logic, duplicate checks)

  • Route downstream to your systems (ERP, accounting, CRM, data warehouse)

  • Track processing status with job IDs and webhooks

Built for real production workflows

  • Batch processing and asynchronous jobs

  • Error handling patterns (retries, idempotency, dead-letter handling)

  • Confidence signals per field and per document (optional)

  • Human-in-the-loop review flows (optional)

How the API typically works

A standard integration pattern:

  1. POST a document (or provide a secure URL)

  2. Receive a job ID immediately

  3. Poll status or receive a webhook callback when complete

  4. Fetch the structured results (JSON + optional metadata)

  5. Push the data to your downstream systems

This pattern prevents timeouts, supports high throughput, and makes processing reliable under peak loads.

Output designed for downstream systems

Instead of returning plain text only, the API focuses on outputs your applications can consume:

  • Field-level JSON (e.g., invoice_number, supplier_name, vat_id, total_amount)

  • Line items arrays with consistent schemas

  • Table extraction to normalized structures

  • Optional bounding boxes / page references for traceability

  • Optional “evidence” links back to the source region to support review/audit

Security by design

Common security features include:

  • API keys with scoped permissions

  • TLS in transit and encryption at rest (where applicable)

  • IP allowlisting and private networking options (for private deployments)

  • Audit logs (for regulated deployments)

  • Configurable retention and deletion policies

If you require VPC/VNet integration, private endpoints, or customer-managed keys, we support those in private cloud deployments.

Developer experience features (what engineering teams care about)

Observability and debugging

  • Request/response correlation IDs

  • Detailed job logs and processing traces (where enabled)

  • Performance metrics (latency, throughput, error rates)

  • Clear error semantics and actionable failure codes

Versioning and stability

  • Versioned endpoints and backward-compatible schema evolution

  • Explicit deprecations with migration guidance

  • Deterministic outputs where required (schema-first extraction patterns)

Integration-friendly architecture

  • Webhooks for completion events

  • Optional S3/GCS/Azure Blob handoff patterns (avoid uploading large files twice)

  • Works with queues and event buses (SQS/SNS, Pub/Sub, Service Bus, Kafka)

Example use cases developers build

  • “Inbox-to-ERP”: ingest email attachments, extract, validate, post to ERP

  • Vendor invoice automation with line-item extraction and checks

  • Document classification + routing into the right workflow

  • Self-serve customer upload portals with real-time extraction results

  • Enrichment services (entities, normalization) feeding analytics pipelines

Deployment options for your needs

Depending on your security and compliance posture:

  • Hosted API (fastest time-to-value)

  • Single-tenant hosted (isolation and stricter controls)

  • Private cloud (deploy into AWS, Azure, or GCP environments)

The API surface remains consistent; the infrastructure model changes to fit your constraints.

What we need from you to scope an API integration

To provide an accurate plan and timeline, we typically ask for:

  • the document types and expected monthly volume

  • required fields and edge cases (what “correct” means)

  • latency and throughput requirements

  • integration targets (ERP/accounting/CRM/data warehouse)

  • security constraints (region, private networking, retention)

Get started

If you want to integrate Enterflow into your product or internal tools, we can provide:

  • a reference integration pattern tailored to your stack,

  • example schemas for your document types,

  • and a recommended rollout plan (pilot → production).
